About the Ring of North Kerry Cycle
Run annually every August, The RoNK started way back in 2011 and is now firmly established as one of the top cycling events in the calendar. The RoNK prides itself on its friendly welcome, challenging routes and the spectacular scenery of North Kerry. 2018 sees two new routes, the longer route bringing us back onto Kerry Head on The Wild Atlantic Way. The RoNK is a Cycling Ireland ratified event and features full medical and mechanical back up.
Both routes take in Beal Hill while the longer route also takes in Kerry Head. The split for the two groups comes at Ballyduff as the longer route continues on the coast road while the shorter route heads through Ballyduff and home via Lixnaw. The longer route heads from Ballyduff on the coast road and down into Causeway. From there cyclists continue to Kilmoyley and on to Ballyheigue, Kerry Head and home to Finuge via Causeway and Lixnaw. There are two foodstops for cyclists at Ballybunion and Ballyheigue and full medical and mechanical back will be provided on the day. T&T Fitness Systems have very kindly sponsored an exercise bike worth €1000 as a prize for one lucky cyclist.
